Members of the UPS Milk Quality Laboratory attended the REDLAT meeting

UPS professor Paola Simbaña, a member of the university's Milk Quality Laboratory, took part in a workshop organized by REDLAT, in Argentina, thanks to the Iberoamerican Program on Science and Technology for Development (CYTED), which is made up by dairy laboratories in Latin American and the Caribbean. 

During the meeting they determined the activities the network will be carrying out, such as ways of taking action against regional problems, quality management and communication between 21 institutions from 12 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Panamá, Paraguay and Uruguay.

In the opening ceremony, Graciela Muset, manager of Cooperación Económica e Institucional de INTI lácteos and the coordinator of REDLAT, asked everyone to explain the current situation of dairy products in their country.

This was the official presentation of REDLAT, and they explained their strategic plans for the future, communication among its members, a work plan for the next four years with activities like training, dissemination of their research projects, workshops, attending regional fairs, having a website: www.redlat-cyted.com

The dairy research group at UPS looks forward to actively participating in this network and disseminating their work.
