The university's community involvement department held the third Job Fair in Guayaquil where public and private organizations were able to interact with UPS students.

"The aim is that students get closer to companies and find a job", said the head of community involvement in the university, Bernardo Salgado, during the inauguration of the job fair which was attended by over 1,200 UPS students and alumn and about 60 companies.

"We selected companies and majors in order to create more specific connections", said Bernardo Salgado. Before the event, participants had to register through a virtual platform where they were given an hour for the interviews. "This made a much better organization, additionally this fair is an opportunity for student's practicum", said Wendy Luna, director of the community involvement department.

For Gabriela Ponton, representative of Tiendas Industriales Asociadas, in these events it is possible to learn more about students' interest in gaining professional experience.

"I see the university supports us and gives us the opportunity to look for a job while we're still students", said Joselyn Chavez, student majoring in accounting.

The plan is that next year the fair can take two days and that more companies attend.
