The board of directors of the IEEE student branch in our branch campus in Guayaquil held a ceremony for the inauguration of the new members of the board of directors for the 2020 period. The outgoing members, as well as professors and students who cooperated, were awarded certificates and recognition plaques for their work during 2019.

The IEEE student branch, one of the salesian groups in the university, works on professional training, research and the development of new technologies, planning seminars, talks and all types of activities related to the discovery and implementation of new technologies.

The ceremony was attended by Andres Bayolo, vicepresident of our campus in Guayaquil; Santiago Rodriguez, representative of Megaworld, a company that sponsors different events organized by IEEE; Victor Huilcapi, director of the electronic and automation undergraduate program; Gary Ampuño, director of the electricity undergraduate program; and students.

"The outgoing board directors have done a great job, they organized many activities, courses and training sessions that portrayed the university's image in this field. This ceremony is to recognize their work and officially welcome the new members", said Andres Bayolo.

During 2019 IEEE organized around 25 events, including courses, seminars and workshops. It is currently organizing courses on PLC, Arduino and 3D modeling, as well as a fair to create networks with companies in the country.

Monica Miranda, professor and member of the IEEE student branch in Guayaquil thanked everyone who supports the work and development of IEEE, the university president and vice president for their unconditional support, supporting companies, the undergraduate program directors and of course the students, especially Luis Bajaña, president of the students federation. "We will be pleased to have students from other undergraduate programs like mechatronics, automotive engineering and others, so they can also be part of the IEEE family", she said.
