Virtual enrollment process

Our branch campus in Guayaquil is working hard to make all the necessary conditions for the registration process available during the health emergency and the quarantine; the new semester will start on May 4th and it will be online.

Professors have been preparing to provide students quality education through this new approach, "people from the IT department have been helping us with the use of the virtual platforms, we have had a training session and professors are ready technologically and pedagogically speaking", said Pedro Peña, director of the civil engineering undergraduate program.

For Gloria Bermudez, director of the psychology undergraduate program, this methodolgy is challenging, but professors have had the right training and this will strengthen our work this semester. "Professors have had training on the methodology that will be used in this new system and how to manage students appropriately."

Directors of all undergraduate programs have been in touch with students via online to talk about the new virtual methodology that will be used in this new semester. "Professors will have to follow the established class schedule", said Bermudez. The registration process will begin on April 16 and the university will use all of its technological tools to facilitate the process. Students who need further information can use WhatsApp to contact the university, 098 787 3971.

The university's online attention hours will be from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm, the registration can be done from 9am to 11:55pm according to the day assigned, which is based on the students' year of study. Students who still have a debt from last semester must contact the student services department which is providing several payment alternatives so students can continue their regular enrollment process without any restriction.

By using this new methodology, students will surely adopt new skills to acquire new knowledge; for Yandry Baquerizo, a student majoring in computer engineering, this online methodology will enable students to discover new means of learning. "It's true we are not used to this, but the situation the country facing calls for these measures and we should find a way to take advantage", she said.

Franzua Romero, a civil engineering student, stated that "because of the current situation, we have to use the university's virtual learning environments and professors will answer our questions just as they would do on campus".

The undergraduate programs currently available in our branch campus in Guayaquil are: business administration, accounting and auditing, economics, communications, psychology, theology, basic education, early education, and engineering majors in computing, electricity, electronics and automation, biotechnology, automotive engineering, mechatronics, civil, telecommunications, environmental and biomedicine.
