The theology undergraduate program which will be taught virtaully has officially begun. This program has been taught since 1999, but in 2015 it began a process to restructure and update its curriculum. The aim of the program is to incorporate scientific and ecclesiastical studies of religion in order to build a fairer and friendlier environment.

 

The program will take nine semesters to complete and is divided into two sections:

 

- Sacred Ministry: designed for those preparing for priestly ordination

 

- Religious Pedagogy: seeks to develop professional skills to teach religious subjects, promote dialogue and interreligious action and develop activities in pastoral areas of various institutions

 

The program seeks to educate people in Theology and the expectation for the future is to continue with systematic training and offer society and the church master's degree programs that respond to theological and pastoral activities. 

 

It is the first undergraduate program in UPS that will be taught virtually. Under graduate programs in Anthropology, Local Development and Intercultural Bilingual Education will be offered soon.

 

The online mode responds to the need of the university to adapt to the demand of people linked to labor and territorial scenarios where time for their academic education does not respond to conventional schedules. In addition, there's the information and communication technologies which have been adapted to education.
