University officials, students, professors from our branch campus in Cuenca took part in the presentation of the new Elia Liut Avenue, which is a project titled “Arteria de gris a verde”. The project was carried out by our university and the municipality of Cuenca as part of the “Safe and Sound Cities” program. 

The renovated avenue extends from España Avenue to Calle Vieja, and provides a safe and accessible corridor for all citizens. The improvements include the implementation of safe pedestrian crossings, the integration of green areas and new lighting that not only improves aesthetics, but also promotes security

 
Students from the Architecture major in our branch campus in Cuenca presented the winning project that transformed the space into a model of sustainable and healthy mobility. In addition, local artists have left their mark through murals that adorn the landscape, enriching the visual and cultural experience of passing by this avenue.

 
UPS president, Father Juan Cárdenas, together with the Mayor of the city of Cuenca, Cristian Zamora, and other local authorities, celebrated this accomplishment as a step towards a more livable and prosperous city. The students involved in the project expressed their commitment to continue working on similar initiatives, with the vision of contributing to the well-being and quality of life of all citizens in Cuenca.
