An open house and a food festival to celebrate the University’s 20th foundation anniversary.

Students and teachers from Social Science majors in Quito, Salesian groups (ASU), the language institute, Abya Yala- UPS publishing house and the Abya Yala museum got together to celebrate the university’s 20th foundation anniversary by sharing some of their academic and community involvement projects.

This event took place last July 24th in Campus-Giron in Quito where several university majors such as Applied Anthropology, Local Sustainable Development, Intercultural Education, Psychology, and Pedagogy were given a stand to display part of their history and salesian identity.

At noon, there were about 400 people present for a traditional food festival called “pamba mesa” organized by Intercultural Education students.

In the afternoon, there was a formal meeting presided by UPS president, Javier Herran, and after the meeting the workers association at UPS (ADAUPS) hosted a closing ceremony.
