This scientific cinema festival has been a pioneer and a leader in the world of images and sounds of science and technology since the second half of the twentieth century till today. The 27th edition promises to be innovative, since the festival will be held in several cities in Europe and Ibero-America. In November 2014, Ronda along with other cities around the world that would like to join will simultaneously celebrate the Scientific Cinema Bienal (BIIC)

Known as the most important Scientific Cinema Bienal since its beginnings in 1977, the 27th edition of BIIC Ronda 2014 will present new proposals for viewers and will have global presence. There will be complementary activities with academic and scientific research networks such as IRIS network in Spain and CLARA network from Ibero-America.

This way they will share not only their projections for this international festival, but they will also interact with experts and thus create spaces for scientific dissemination and communication in both continents. It’s about sharing experiences, resources, and common criteria in order to define, value, assess, and validate quality, creativity, innovation, education, cultural and scientific use of the audiovisual content within the revolution of digital technology.

Starting July 2014 people can watch the movies that will play in the BICC 2014 contest, in the cities that will take part of the festival, through RedIRIS and RedCLARA digital networks.

The movies that are chosen for the final phase will be shown in the Conference Center in the city of Ronda Malaga, Spain from the 24th to the 29th of November.
