Robotics Tournament "ChaskiBots 6"

The Robotics Club from our branch campus in Guayaquil, made up by 2 professors and 27 students majoring in electronics and automation, mechatronics, electricity, biomedicine and business administration, took part in the Robotics Tournament “ChaskiBots 6” which took place in the city of Baños de Agua Santa, in the province off Tungurahua. 

 

The aim of the tournament is to get students from different universities together and enable them to put everything they have learned into practice and create projects that will help solve problems, as well as complete certain challenges. 

 

The following table shows the categories, members and prizes they won:

 

 

“I joined the club three months ago and it has been a very enriching experience, I’m learning a lot…I have never been in a competition like this with other universities and I hope I can attend other similar competitions with the club in the future”, said Madelayne Montufar, student majoring in business administration, who despite majoring in business has always been interested in technology and science.

 

Our robotics club won second place overall; “all of us who make up the robotics club are motivated to improve and continue representing our university. We are now getting ready for the next tournament “Killtronic 4.0”, said Orlando Barcia, director of the electronics engineering undergraduate program.  


The universities that took part in the tournament were: Universidad Politécnica del Ejército, Universidad Politécnica de Chimborazo, Instituto Técnico Simón Bolívar, Club de Robótica ChaskiBots, UPS - Cuenca, Escuela de robótica Nastratech, Club de Robótica Smart-U
