Father Marcelo Farfán presented the book titled "Salesian Charisma and Higher Education" during the 8th IUS Conference taking place in Quito. As the coordinator of the book, he said the aim is to strengthen salesian identity of IUS and create a Salesian university culture based on higher education worldwide.

"There is a lot to write about our own institutions, I invite you to do it because it is a way to be present and spread the word of what we do in higher education. The book contains information from different voices, cultures, geographies and experiences", he said.

The book contains the history of IUS, the identity and mission of salesian higher education in different contexts. The books were handed out to representatives of salesian institutions from Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia.

They also presented the progress the network is making, such as the IUS- Group and others whose aim is to encourage and guarantee the existence of efficient networks that operate in an integral, systematic manner with specific, permanent and disseminated results. They presented the IUS networks for research, cooperation and exchange in the areas of economic and administrative sciences (CIAGEN), RIUSI interculturality, Electronics (RELCA) and Smar Cities RECI.

Another announcement made by Father Farfan was the new website of the IUS that will present the work of every salesian institution in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
