The university's branch campus in Guayaquil held a virtual open house in order to present several academic, research and professional activities. Students presented innovative projects which will be part of the university's community engagement.

UPS president Juan Cardenas, Raul Alvarez, vice president of our branch campus in Guayaquil, and Wendy Luna, head of admissions, welcomed everyone who joined the virtual open house.

"It is the first time I talk to you as the president of the university and I do so willing to walk beside you during this time of uncertainty and doubts, but also full of hope and optimism. We are going through difficult times which make it difficult to get together, but that does not stop our desire to keep developing science and creating projects for society…" stated father Juan Cardenas

Over 15,000 people joined several zoom meetings to be part of the project presentations. The undergraduate programs that participated were:

- Accounting, economics and business administration

- Psychology, early education, basic education and theology

- Environmental engineering and biotechnology

- Electronics and automation, telecommunications and computer engineering

- Mechatronics, biomedicine

- Industrial engineering, civil engineering

- Automotive engineering

- Electric engineering

- Communication

Since many of the people who joined the open house were high school students and their parents, university representatives provided information on costs, scholarships, schedules, enrollment process and the benefits of studying at UPS.

"UPS is always progressing and serving young people. We have taken advantage of technology to present several projects through this first virtual open house which was attended by many high school students and their parents", stated Raul Alvarez.
