The local sustainable development undergraduate program in Quito celebrated its 20th anniversary. During this time it has educated professionals with a human, intercultural, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspective 

 

Some of the activities during this celebration were:

 

- Talk: "Territorio, Identidad y Poder: elementos teóricos metodológicos" led by Rogério Haesbaert, renowned geographer, researcher at the Fluminense Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

- Workshop  "Economía Popular y Solidaria. Elementos y marcos de políticas",  attended by students and respresentatives from the institute of solidarity based economy.

 

- "Feria del Desarrollo Local Sostenible. Desde, Con y Para la Gente", planning and management of local territories, solidarity based economy, culture, identity, environmental management.

 

During the ceremony, they analyzed the contribution of this program to society, its achievements  and education for political and social leaders. It was attended by Jose Juncosa, vice president of UPS's branch campus in Quito, Pablo Ortiz, Jessenia Vaca and Anita Taco.
