The 2019 "Santa Cecilia" singing competition
Jose Sanchez, an electronics and automation student from our branch campus in Cuenca, was the winner of this year's edition of the "Santa Cecilia" singing competition which was held in the university theater. Abigail Muñoz came in second and Verónica Sigcha, third. The winners get a full and a half scholarship for next semester.
The event began with an opening speech from Fernando Moscoso, vice president of the university's campus in Cuenca, who reminded attendees that the competition has been held since the opening of the university and that music is also important to provide integral education.
The members of the jury were made up by Cristina Vallejo, David Cañizares, Galo Cárdenas and Marlon Genovez. The music for each one of the participants was performed by the university's modern music band.
