Our branch campus in Guayaquil offers in the Dentistry undergraduate program, which prepares students to be competent professionals committed to the oral health of society with a focus on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of oral, dental and stomatological conditions.

Currently, the program has 200 students enrolled in the first and second semester who have a team of highly qualified professors, modern infrastructure and cutting-edge technology. Students have access to laboratories equipped with the latest dental equipment and software.

Karol Chávez, director of the program, stressed some of the advances that are transforming dental education at the university. "We are in the process of building a dental clinic that will have simulation spaces. This will allow our students to develop specific skills and practice material application techniques before treating real patients."

The dental clinic will have digital radiology and tomography services, which will benefit both students and patients. "Students will have access to state-of-the-art digital diagnostic and planning tools". Patients will like the fact that they can get their exams within our facilities, which will contribute to an optimal treatment plan", she said.

Apart from the dental clinic, we will also have a prosthetics laboratory equipped with cutting-edge technology, such as the CAD CAM system for the design of veneers, crowns and highly aesthetic prostheses. This will not only improve the quality of treatment for patients, but will also allow our students to learn with excellent quality equipment and supplies.

Future dentists from UPS will be prepared to perform in a variety of roles, both in public and private institutions, they will be able to assume administrative, research, teaching and service responsibilities in various health and educational settings. The university is proud of its commitment to training oral health professionals who will make a difference in the community.
