The university's theater group "Katharsis" from Guayaquil presented the play "El país de los sin-ceros", written by the Argentinean author Gaston Quiroja.

The play is about a how a country's governor discredits the number zero in an interview. "It is a very funny play aimed at making people think about how sometimes we think certain things are not important in life", said Gabriel Gallardo, director of the play.

This play began its internationalization in Ecuador and has been presented in Spain and Puerto Rico. "We brought the play to where it began", said Gallardo.

The theater group is made up by Gabriel Gallardo, director; Jimmy Anastacio, Christian Ríos, Ana Buenaño, Ángel Bayona, Katherine Gaibor, Kenneth Mora, Amaranta Santamaría and Karen Ramos. The music was in charge of Ruth Díaz, director of the choir group.

On November 7th, the Katharsis group will hold an interschool theater competition where nine high schools will be participating.
