The "Salesian Volunteer Group" visited communities in Cotopaxi

To celebrate Easter, the pastoral department and a group of volunteer students from different undergraduate programs in our branch campus in Quito visited the communities of Angamarca and Pucayacu in the province of Cotopaxi to carry out solidarity actions and some education activities.
Students worked with the elderly, boys and girls in reforestation and academic activities. Children from the community received school supplies and other materials which the university had collected in a previous campaign.
Jaime Chela, director of the pastoral department, explained that some students already had experience with these types of activities since they have been part of other volunteer groups at the university. “Students contribution was amazing and it created a very friendly environment”, he said. There will be other similar activities with students and so he invited the university community to join the different salesian groups at the university.
