Our branch campus in Guayaquil started off this new semester online due to the health emergency caused by Covid 19. For this semester, both students and professors have attended training sessions in order to learn more about the use of platforms such as zoom the virtual learning environments.

The university provides technological tools that will enable the university community to provide quality education. "It is a new phase for education, time to continue educating great professionals that our country needs.

Officials in our branch campus in Guayaquil have worked along with officials from the Emergency Operations Committee (COE for its acronym in Spanish) to have authorization of academic practices within the laboratories, maintaining biosafety measures for both students and teachers. "We are making arrangements to start with practical classes in the laboratories. When we have a date we will inform them in a timely manner," said Andrés Bayolo, director of the Economics undergraduate program.

"With the help of directors and teachers, students will be able to achieve all the goals that they have. Remember that they will always have the guidance they need from us," said Carmen Palacios, director of the Environmental Engineering program.

For Salesian teachers, the commitment is to provide, in each class, a total management of both knowledge and digital platforms. "I hope to be able to acquire all the knowledge that our teachers are teaching us and to be able to use all the tools available for greater learning," said María Auxiliadora Alcívar, Biotechnology student.

Classes will be recorded on the academic platforms so that students can access them at any time when there is any doubt. Likewise, the AVAC platform will allow academic activities such as workshops, homework, presentations, evaluations, and more.

For Yesenia Chacón, a student of Environmental Engineering, this new normal should be the space to learn new things since adapting to changes is also part of the current reality "I really want to start my studies at the University, perhaps they are not the best circumstances due to the health emergency, but we will overcome this situation", she says.
