The university choir group took part in an international festival in Colombia

The university's choir group from our branch campus in Quito took part in the 17th International Choir Festival of religious music held in the city of Pamplona, Colombia from the 15th to the 20th of April. The aim of the festival is to enrich culture and demonstrate that music surpasses religious frontiers.

Ecuador and Venezuela were invited to participate in this year's festival; the university's choir group was directed by Karol Caicedo, while the Venezuelan group was directed by Jesus Garcia. Colombia was represented by the choir group from Universidad de Pamplona, which is directed by Juan Jose Nova, the group from Sincelejo, directed by Edwin Carrillo, and the choir group from Universidad Industrial de Santander, directed by Juan Manuel Hernández.

The university choir group presented its concerts in the Centro Penitenciario, en el Batallón de Infantería General Custodio García Rovira, en la Casa de las cajas reales – Sena, en la capilla del Municipio de Santo Domingo de Silios and presented the following songs: El Pescador; Hanacpachap Cussiuinin; Vasija de Barro; Ave María; Sensemaya; Rinnimi Llacta Rinimi; Apamuy Shungo; Locus Iste and la Misa de la mitad del mundo, which is a new song that was created by Eduardo Florencia.
