Students and professors in our branch campus in Cuenca took part in the 2019 Technology Expo and presented several projects developed by students from different undergraduate programs.

Attendees learned more about robotic assistants that are used to help children with their education, formula SAE vehicles: one electric vehicle and the other which uses gasoline, which participated in Silverstone England; hand prostheses, an exo skeleton, an industrial automation system, and other projects.

The 2019 Technology Expo in Cuenca is a fair held nationwide where organizations can present the latest trends on technology. Higher education institutions also present their academic programs related to technological and scientific development.

Areas such as robotics, mechatronics, bioengineering, computing, home automation, both wired and wireless communications, are areas where there is a greater use of cutting-edge technologies.

John Calle, professor in our branch campus in Cuenca, said that "in the 21st century, thanks to inventions such as the Internet, we are expanding the range of possibilities regarding how technology is integrated into our lives to the point of becoming an updated version of human beings. "

Technologies that used to be for scientific, space or military use, are now available to everyone and with very specific applications such as the use of nanotechnology to create nano robots that can fight diseases from within the body or the use of robots and drones for home delivery.
