The university's branch in Guayaquil launched two books, the first titled "Viaje al centro de la ficción"  and the second, an academic memoir titled "Segundo congreso salesiano de ciencia, tecnología e innovación para la sociedad". The first book was written by Augusto Rodriguez while the second was coordinated by Raquel Ayala and Joe Llerena and Pablo Parra.
UPS President Javier Herran, UPS-Guayaquil Vice president Andres Bayolo, the university's general editor Luis Alvarez and the principal of the technology institute "17 de Julio" Ricardo Silva attended the event.

Javier Herran highlighted the importance of research for professors' and students' intellectual development.

The text ""Viaje al centro de la ficción ", is a book that seeks to capture the world of literature in three major areas: the emergent, referring to the new Latin American poetry; the residual, the tragic poets that we must return to; and the dominant, i.e. writers who are part of a global model. "The book opens the door to a more intimate intellectual space that a writer can have: his readings," said Augusto Rodriguez, while reading the preface written by Dr. Ruben Medina from the University of Wisconsin (USA).

On the other hand, the book " Segundo congreso salesiano de ciencia, tecnología e innovación para la sociedad Memoria Académica"" is a collection of research papers presented at the academic event called CITIS 2015. "The medium-term vision is that the CITIS congress becomes a benchmark in the country, with national and international projection, "said Ayala during her speech.

Once the event concluded they gave the audience the books. "We can see that in the UPS our professors do conduct research and I feel good knowing they share their texts with students," said Diego Tandazo, communication student.
