The UPS-Quito Vice President took part in an international conference on higher education

Jose Juncosa, UPS-Quito Vice President, took part in the international seminar on "The challenges of higher education in the new millennium", and in the round table titled "National and international accreditation of the university and its departments". This event, which was organized by Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE) on the 12th and 13th of January, invited national and international experts to discuss good practices in order to have academic quality.
Fernando Ponce Leon, PUCE President, Rene Ramirez, SENESCYT secretariat, as well as experts from Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, France, Spain and the USA attended the opening ceremony.
Jose Juncosa's talk was based on the university's experience: "Research is what keeps UPS alive, it's part of its existence, it's a reality that is present at all times. We intend to include research in the management of knowledge"
He also talked about the support of professors Salvatore Patera and Prof. Piergiuseppe Ellerani from Universidad de Salento and Professor Amauri from Universsidad de Salento, who is carrying out participatory action research to promote a "Learning Ecosystem" which will result in a culture of research in the university.
He also told people about the university's activities such as prioritizing research, educational innovation, strengthening the learning process, the relationship between research and interculturality and social transformation.
