The Superintendence of Information and Communication (SUPERCOM for its acronym in Spanish) awarded Universidad Politecnica Salesiana an acknowledgement award titled "Por una comunicación incluyente" or "For an Inclusive Communication" for its radio program "Ñuca Ecuador".

Ñuca Ecuador is a radio program that fosters principles of inclusion, interculturality and educommunication that are established in the Organic Law of Communication. "This informative program is the means through which we can make our country known about", said Susan Escobar, UPS professor and director of the program.

Carlos Ochoa, Superintendent of Information and Communication, highlighted the educational and cultural work done at UPS through its radio program. "It is important that academia be a part of change and UPS has what it takes to continue this process", he said. The event was attended by 30 students from the university's three branches. "It has been collaborative work between university officials and students nationwide", said Escobar.

The radio program was created thanks to an inter institutional agreement signed between the Ecuadorian Radio Broadcasting Association and Universidad Politecnica Salesiana on December 22nd, 2015. The first phase ended in the month August and UPS is now planning more activities to keep on working on this program. "We hope to continue the program and help those who have no voice in certain matters", said Astrid Singre, UPS student.
