The electronic engineering major is currently holding a training session for its students titled "Selection and programming of Zelio Logic smart relays". The course is led by Alba Rivadeneira from Electroleg Company.

The aim of the training session is to update students' knowledge in the field of industrial automation. "The companies that take part in the course will facilitate the development of ideas and new projects not only for the university but for society", said Cesar Cáceres, member of the organizing committed.

Topics such as "Zelio Logic Technology", "Main characteristics of Zelio hardware" and local programming and software" are part of the course. Zelio soft  is a device that automates several machines and processes such as  lights in a mall.

For Victor Huilcapi, the director of the electronic engineering major, these courses allow students to compare and contrast information learnt in the classroom. "The training sessions are for students because practice is essential for their future profession", he said.

According to plans, there will be talks on telecommunications and industrial instrumentation programs. We started with electronics, but the training courses are open to all engineering majors", said Caceres.
