Training sessions for professors in Guayaquil

Our branch campus in Guayaquil held training sessions for professors to strengthen academia and discuss the educational practices at the university, as well as salesian identity.

 

In accordance with the Organic Law of Higher Education and Academic Regulations, the training sessions were held before starting the new semester. The event was presided by Juan Cardenas Tapia, UPS president; Angela Flores Ortiz, academic vice president; Raul Alvarez, vice president of our branch campus in Guayaquil; Diego Peñaloza, head of postgraduate programs; Juan Pablo Salgado, Head of Research; and Jaime Zapata, academic coordinator in Guayaquil. 
 

Over 300 professors attended the sessions in order to discuss proposals for efficiently managing the university’s education model. Professors discussed salesian identity, methodologies, cooperative learning and educational environments. 

 

UPS president Juan Cardenas spoke about salesian identity and stressed the importance of digital transformation and the university’s goals for 2027. “By 2027, the university will be recognized by society and businesses as the best higher education institution to train students to become innovative and flexible professionals with great academic and human values and skills to face the digital era and assure a sustainable future”,
