For the well-being of the entire university community, especially students, the university held teacher training sessions, an activity that brings together professors, directors and authorities for joint work within UPS.

Fernando Moscoso, vice president of our branch campus in Cuenca, welcomed everyone and encouraged them to start the new academic period (55) with the commitment and ability to meet students' demands.

"The challenge of maintaining the institution's mission which is service to the poor is one of the tasks in which we are going to work together with everyone from each of the three branch campuses; we will be guided by three elements: identity, academic training and sustainability ", said Fernando Pesántez, general vice president.

Fernando Pesántez stated that one of the great goals is to create their own quality accreditation model as a Salesian University, where it can be compared not only with Ecuadorian universities, but with Salesian universities worldwide. He said there must be evaluation and learning processes that break regular schemes, where the person only wants to achieve individual achievements, Salesian students cannot have the idea that each one wants to be the best evaluated student, individuals are no longer important, everyone is important and therefore an evaluation process that values transdisciplinary work must be sought.

Before concluding the meeting, professor Fernando Urgilés was awarded the Valeriano Gabinelli prize which recognizes excellence in the development of university activities, practice of Salesian values and availability to find creative solutions.
