On September 27th, the university's branch campus in Quito held the 4th national meeting on training plans for professors. The meeting was attended by 23 representatives from universities that offer the program of Education Sciences, such as: Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG), Universidad Central del Ecuador, Universidad Técnica de Ambato (UTA), Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas (ESPE) and Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS).

People who attended the meeting spoke about the implications of training for public school teachers who have no degree. This process will focus on bilingual intercultural education and basic education teachers in the Ecuadorian highlands, amazon and coast.

The meeting and workshop was organized by Universidad Nacional de Educacion (UNAE); it was divided into three roundtables to discuss: the legal process, financial resources and academic management.

Professors Maria Sol Villagomez, from pedagogy, and Aurora Iza, from intercultural bilingual education, attended on behalf of UPS to analyze the educational models and curriculums.
