UPS imparted a course on cooperativism and citizenship as part of the Citizens and Leadership program carried out by the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Jardín Azuayo. The aim is to strengthen the institution's fundamentals by developing cooperative educational programs that will transform people's minds and lifestyle based on values; its strategic ally is UPS. 

The closing ceremony was held in the university coliseum and main officials from both institutions attended. UPS president Javier Herran and the manager of Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Jardín Azuayo Juan Carlos Urgiles highlighted the work done professors and students.

A total of 1036 people registered for the course. Participants had to pass 10 modules  during 160 class hours with the support of the university's virtual platform. 1008 students passed the online evaluation and were awarded a certificate by UPS and Jardin Azuayo.

The course was part of the university's continuing education program. The university is committed to improving academic quality by using its technological resources and human capital in the learning process.
