Juan Cardenas, UPS President, and Angel Torres, general editor, attended an event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) which was celebrated in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

The event was attended by leaders and experts in the field of scientific and academic research. It was an opportunity to discuss the future perspectives of the SciELO Network, participants discussed crucial challenges, including new forms of XML tagging, open access, Scielo-Data, Open Peer-Review and Scielo-Preprints, essential elements in modern scientific publishing.

An important part of the meeting was the presentation of the user guide on research tools and resources with artificial intelligence, which is a relevant topic in the current context of technological advances and their influence on scientific production.

In the meeting, they stressed our university’s commitment to strengthening SciELO Libros through the Abya-Yala University Publishing House, which is the only publisher in Ecuador on this platform. It provides a catalog of 39 books available to the academic community.
