On Monday, March 27th, the university's branch campuses in Cuenca and Quito started a new semester (period 50) which is planned to en don August 31.

New students are pleased to begin a new stage in their lives, they are full of energy and motivated to fulfill their goal of studying and undergraduate program at UPS. "UPS is known for its academic excellence and technology, that's why I'm happy to be part of this salesian family", said Viviana Mena, environmental engineering student.

Currently, in the university's branch campus in Guayaquil, about 2000 candidates are taking the induction course that will last three weeks and is part of the entry process. There will be a second induction course in the month of April for new high school graduates.

The university's branch campus in Cuenca is currently organizing the 2017 UPS Expo, where students will present their projects, there will also be cultural activities, contests, music and other activities. The expo will take place from the 20th to the 22nd of April.

This semester the university's branch in Quito will inaugurate its new communication laboratories in "El Giron" campus and new laboratories in telecommunications, mechanics, mechatronics and biotechnology in "Sur" campus.
