The university's women's soccer team, UPS Carneras, presented its new uniform and team for this year's "SuperLiga Femenina Profesional de Fútbol" tournament.

Cesar Vasquez, vice president of the university's branch campus in Cuenca, reminded people that Carneras have been playing for six years already, two years in the "B" category and four in the "A" category, and that the university supports this team.

Edisson Mendez, coach, said "I believe one can have great ideas to carry out several projects, but support is needed. Therefore, I would like to thank the university's officials for all their support and trust". 

Eduardo Espinoza, president of the students federation, congratulated the players and the coaching staff for the work they have carried out. 

UPS Carneras is part of group 1 in the national tournament along with the following teams: Deportivo Cuenca, Olmedo, Fuerza Amarilla, Barcelona, Emelec, Guayaquil City, Delfín, Técnico Universitario, Macará y Mushuc Runa.
