The university's branch in Cuenca held a drill to test people's preparedness in case of an emergency. Students, professors and staff quickly reacted and evacuated the building as brigade members gave people instructions and told them how to get to the designated assembly point.

The aim of the drills are to make people in the university aware of how important it is to be prepared in case of an emergency such as an earthquake. People are taught how to evacuate in an organized manner and help those who are most vulnerable.

The Fire Department was in charge of controlling the entire process and has already submitted recommendations that will help the university improve times and the evacuation process in case of an emergency.

After the drill, members of the brigades and the fire department got together to discuss the outcomes and take measures that will improve safety in the university.
