UPS-Cuenca missionaries went to Chaucha and Salinas during holy week

Students who are part of the Salesian Pastoral Groups: young people in action, environmental group and the Don Bosco missionary group carried out a project for social and human development in vulnerable communities in Salinas de Guaranda in the province of Bolivar and in Chaucha in the province of Azuay from the 1 the 5 of April.

The aim of the project is to help generate processes of human development through the university's community involvement department.

The 75 students who participated in this project were supported by professors from several majors such as automotive mechnical engineering, electronics, electrical, accounting, business and social communication. The students not only held pastoral activities, they also helped people learn about  automotive maintenance, entrepreneurship and broadcating. 

The project was able to help over 500 children and young people from 200 families in 10 communities in the Salinas parish; and over 450 children from 200 families in 11 communities in the Chaucha parish
