UPS-Cuenca researchers took part in the IEEE APCASE 2015

Four UPS-Cuenca researchers presented their results in the Asia - Pacific Conference on Computer Aided Engineering System APCASE IEEE 2015, indexed in Scopus.
The prestigious scientific event for academics, researchers and professionals involved with engineering and applied sciences was held at Universidad San Francisco de Quito from 14 to 16 July 2015.
The conference covered theoretical and practical aspects of computer and data network engineering assisted systems, and issues related to ubiquitous computing ( ubiquitous computing) and cloud computing (cloud computing) , methods of system design, systems software , computer , security system , studies of systems engineering in the context of industrial application, and others.
UPS Researchers said the event provided an excellent opportunity to share and discuss recent advances in the areas of engineering systems and their applications. Dr. Monica Huerta, a researcher of the Telecommunications Research Group, GITEL, said that in the IEEE - APCASE 2015 , UPS presented (for publication ) four scientific articles.
• "SpaceTime Code Selection Using Channel Prediction" by Dimas Mavares T, Reinaldo Velásquez, Keila Candotti and, M. Huerta Presented by: Dr. Mónica Huerta.
• "Fault diagnosis for controlled continuous systems from an hybrid approach: a case of study" written by Mariela Cerrada, Joffre Ortiz, René Vinicio Sánchez Presented by: Dr. Mariela Cerrada.
• "NeoPlag: An Ecosystem to Support the Development and Evaluation of New Algorithms to Detect Plagiarism"(NeoPlag:) by Diego Quisi-Peralta, Cristian Timbi-Sisalima, Vladimir Robles-Bykbaev, Paola Ingavélez-Guerra, Bertha Tacuri- Capelo, Hernán Fajardo-Heras, Manuel Barrera-Maura. Presented by: Bertha Tacuri.
• "Electroencephalographic Signals Acquisition for the Movement of a Wheelchair Prototype in a Bci System" written by Daniel Guevara and Eduardo Pinos. Presented by: Daniel Guevara.
