UPS-Cuenca students majoring in biotechnology came forth with their community involvement project in the community of Chazojuan, in the province of Bolivar. Students carried out several activities regarding human and social development in this area as well as in nearby towns.

The aim of the visit was to provide local pig producers with 10 biodigesters and workshops regarding its use, especially in vulnerable areas with a risk of poplution from the rivers in Chazojuan, a community in the district of Salinas de Guaranda.

This project enabled students to get hands on practice and show society how prepared they are to manage environmental issues. The people who benefited from the project thanked the university and requested there to be more projects like these in order to benefit those who need it the most.
