UPS-Cuenca took part in the V Latin American Meeting on Energy Economy (V Encuentro Latinoamericano de Economía de la Energía, ELAEE) which was held in Medellin, Colombia from the 6 to the 18 of March. The event was organized by the Energy Innovation and Research Center at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Asociación Latinoamericana de Economía de la Energía (ALADEE), and public companies in Medellin. Representatives from Latin American Universities attended attended the event. 

During this international academic meeting, UPS professor and researcher Nelson Jara Cobos presented his paper titled "Modelo Dinámico para el Estudio de la Aplicación del Plan de Renovación de Refrigeradores domésticos en el Ecuador". Professor Jara's paper supports a general project on modeling and simulation of energy efficiency policies through systematic and dynamic systems.  

Cesar Isaza, PhD, Diana Giraldo, PhD, and Luciano Gallón, PhD, from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana de Medellín, currently support the general project on modeling and simulation of energy efficiency policies. UPS and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana de Medellín have several cooperation agreements.
