UPS gets the approval for the doctoral program in Computer Science

The university has received the approval for its first doctoral program in Computer Science from Angela Calderon, president of the doctoral programs commission at the Higher Education Council. 

 

The university currently offers 38 postgraduate programs in:

 

•    Administration and economics
•    Social sciences and human behavior 
•    Science and technology
•    Basic sciences
•    Life sciences
•    Education

 
The doctoral program seeks to provide scientific and technological advances by preparing people to be researchers who implement solutions to real problems such as the need to enhance the development and optimization of information systems to help the automation of industrial, business and personal processes in order to improve people’s quality of life; optimize operations of networks to improve telecommunications and be able to provide proper coverage in the entire Ecuadorian territory; and finally the need to conduct research in the field of software engineering, which is key to efficiently integrate different information technologies. 

 

Graduates of the doctoral program will be able to apply their knowledge and skills in public and private institutions, research, innovation and development centers and help with society’s development.
