On July 21st and 22nd there was a meeting in Guayaquil to discuss ways to improve the university's alumni monitoring system and the current form being used; the aim of having that form is to gather information the university needs to systematically assess educational processes.

The new form will enable the reports which are done by professors as part of the alumni monitoring program to be updated. "We want to simplify the process, improve it and hope to have good results", said Bernardo Salgado, Head of Community Involvement at UPS.

In this context, there was a diagnosis of the achievements in the area, an analysis of guidelines for improving and restructuring the form students fill in when they finish university. They also checked the survey graduates must answer and they made a new one to learn about the current situation of postgraduate studies. "Our professionals will help us with the feedback on undergraduate and post graduate programs, and the University could provide more specialized options," he said.

On the other hand, they spoke about the creation of a Process Manual for Monitoring Graduates which should be developed by a teacher from every major that could be presented with the yearly improvement plans, as well as the results report. "We already started diagramming the topic of processes and each of the persons involved, for this reason the idea of the revision is to work together with teachers and that's why we have professors from Quito and Cuenca who are responsible for Monitoring Graduates" said Wendy Luna, director of the community involvement department in Guayaquil
