The Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities supports open access initiatives in order to significantly increase the transfer of scientific and social knowledge generated by the university for the community. Through this new ranking, July 2021, our university moved up to 6th place nationally and 2464 internationally. 

The evaluation system of this ranking is supported by some important indicators according to the work projected by each institution, such as: the "Openness" indicator, which measures the number of citations in Google Scholar of the 100 best researchers of the institution.

The "Academic Excellence" indicator, which analyzes the quality of the acceptance of scientific production, places UPS in the 3141 position, as well as the "Impact" indicator, which measures the visibility of the university portal on the Internet, where UPS is in 4336 place.

UPS has encouraged its academic staff to have a web presence that accurately reflects their activities. According to its academic excellence, web policies are being considered in order to promote substantial increases in volume and the quality of publications.

UPS continues to work on community engagement projects in order to show transparency with respect to the work it does as an institution and also to the indicators evaluated by Webometrics.
