UPS offers new undergraduate programs in Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito

Universidad Politecnica Salesiana is now offering new undergraduate study programs and is currently holding introductory courses for about 2000 youngsters who wish to study in one of the university's three branch campuses, Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito.

One of the new programs is Telecommunications, the main characteristic of this new major is innovation and optimization of resources to solve problems related to the access information, reducing the digital gap, the application of telecommunications in strategic sectors, respect for the environment and the participation in research networks in order to contribute to the country's productivity and diversification of the production matrix. This major will be studied on campus for five years in either Cuenca, Guayaquil or Quito. It takes five years and students will get a degree telecommunications as a Telecommunications Engineer. 

This will be the first time the branch campuses in Guayaquil and Quito will be offering Mechatronics, which is characterized by a combination of mechanics, electronics, control and computing. The aim of this major is to design and develop products related to intelligent systems or the construction of complex machinery to automatize processes. It will be studied on campus, take five years and students will graduate as Mechatronics engineers. Mechatronics has been offered in Cuenca since 2014. 

In the March – August 2017 semester, the university's branch campus in Guayaquil will have the Automotive Engineering major which is aimed at educating students that will be capable of innovating the automotive industry, manage transportation and help change the production matrix.

The university has also updated its academic programs by redesigning the following majors: computing, communication, basic and early education, electricity, electronics and automation and environmental engineering.

New students are thrilled to start the university and they say this is a fundamental part of their lives becuase this will prepare them for the future. They are currently getting to know the university campuses, the laboratories, classrooms, library etc, since this is where they will be spending much of their time.
