UPS professor Eduardo Pinos Vélez took part in "Bioinnova 2014 Emerging Technologies in Rehabilitation and Their Clinical Applications for Elderly" that was held at Pontifica Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. IEEE and MBS representatives from Colombia, Mexico, Argentina and Ecuador attended this event. The speakers were from IEEE and MBS from USA and Europe and from Stanford, MIT and Harvard.

Eduardo Pinos participated in round tables and talked about the projects carried out in UPS, such as: SAM robot, multi-sensory rooms, robot hands and others. Finally, they presented conclusions and recommendations for the "Summer School" Project. Networking Universities and Institutions Assistants.

Professor Pinos said that one of the most relevant parts of the event was to create an international cooperation network in Latin America on topics such as biomedical, biorobotics and bioinformatics engineering based on experiences from developed countries. He added that the university will part of this network in order to deal with topics on rehabilitation for the elderly and handicapped.
