The university's Transport Engineering Research Group (Grupo de Investigación de Ingeniería de Transporte GIIT) launched a proposal for a green mobility plan to use a vehicle with no car emissions, which will combine an electric vehicle, green recharge and green energy.

The aim of the green mobility plan is to respect the environment and use 100% renewable energy. The research group began testing the vehicle, which was given to them by the municipality and the Nissan car company, in Cuenca on March 14. The tests will help researchers learn more about the efficiency of the vehicle in the city of Cuenca.

The research led by Renato Fierro and Milton Garcia is still in its first stages. The final outcome of the project is to have an integral proposal of mobility with electric vehicles.
