UPS professor took part in the VI International Congress on Social Sciences and Humanities

Patricio Antonio Velasco, UPS professor and coordinator of the postgraduate programs at UPS-Quito presented his paper titled "Modelo de economía solidaria y producción agroecológica: caso de organización comunitaria campesina BioVida, Cayambe-Ecuador" in the VI International Congress on Social Sciences and Humanities which took place in Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México on October 8th and 9th. 

The aim of his research is to strengthen community organization of solidarity based economy and rural agroecological production for social sustainable development. 
This research suggests an integral model of management and social management for productive and community development which involves several people for its sustainability. This research is being conducted by professor Velasco as part of his doctoral studies on Planning and Projects of Rural Sustainable Development at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. 

Professor Velasco also participated in an academic debate along with seven other researchers and professors from other countries; he was awarded two certificates by the Centro de Investigación de Estudios Comparados de América Latina and the organizing committee of the congress for his participation. There were researchers from Latin American, European and Asian universities at this event, and professor Velasco was able to incorporate research done at UPS with other universities.
