Marco Carpio and John Morales, UPS-Cuenca professors from the electrical engineering faculty, took part in the International Conference on Applied Mechanics and Mechanical Automation in Hong Kong and presented their research projects titled "Overvoltage Analysis Considering Transmission Tower Models Based on Impedances and Inductances" and "Induced Lightning Stroke Identification on Protection Relays". 

The research analyzes transient overvoltage and the consequences they may have on network components. The professors also showed graphs and voltage values obtained in the software, which allows us to carry out a detailed analysis of electromagnetic transient, they also presented results on the development of new algorithms applied of protection relays applied to transmission lines.

Professors Marco Carpio and John Morales said that attending this event was very important for them since they were able to meet professors and students from the best universities in the world.
