UPS-Quito held the festival titled "Ópera Prima. La semilla de los nuevos videoastas"

On February 20th UPS-Quito held the festival titled "Ópera Prima. La semilla de los nuevos videoastas", a yearly festival organized by the social communication major since 2006 to show students' creativity in making audiovisual products in several categories such as stop motion, art, fiction, and non-fiction. This year's event was sponsored by the Dulssini company.

Antonella Frissone, Argentinian independent producer and specialist in screenplay, and Xavier Sarabia from RECfilms were in charge of picking the winners:

  • Art Video: "Haz deporte" by Israel Molina, Kevin Viteri, Andres Narvaez, Marisel Lechon and Priscila Paredes
  • Stop motion: "Botar Sonrisas" by Carolina Artos and Jacqueline Chávez
  • Fiction: "Uppercut" by Geovanny Arteaga, Pepe Cifuentes, Alejandro Rey, Mishell Noboa, Daniela Ibarra, Evelin Valdivieso, Marjorie Guerrero and Augusto Proaño.
  • Non-fictipon: "Morales, Quién" by Joel Gavilánez.
