Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS) jumped 66 places in the Webometrics ranking web of universities, which ranks how strongly a university is present in the web according to information published in the month of January.

UPS currently ranks 2626th worldwide and 7th in Ecuador. The ranking is based on 4 indicators that evaluate different aspects of university work and its virtual visibility. The most relevant indicator in this edition of the ranking is IMPACT (50%), which measures the visibility of the university's website based on the number of links directed to its content ; UPS jumped 110 places in this indicator and currently ranks 4495 worldwide. 

Regarding the Openness indicator (10%), which measures the number of citations in Google Scholar of the 110 best researchers associated with UPS, we are ranked 2576, which means we have improved 69 positions internationally.

Regarding the EXCELLENCE indicator (35%), which analyzes the quality and acceptance of scientific production, based on the number of scientific publications within the 10% most cited in 26 disciplines, UPS jumped 16 positions, standing in 3236th place. Concerning the PRESENCE indicator (5%), the university remains within the 63 best universities worldwide.

The Webometrics ranking evaluates the usability, relevance of content and the web management of UPS, which is the result of the joint work between several areas and the scientific production of professors and researchers, which shows the commitment of the entire university community.
