In November Professor and UPS representative Patricio Benavides was in Munich, Germany to learn about public education and speak about inclusive education in Ecuador, especially at UPS. 

The meetings were held in Munich, Nuremberg and Jena; Benavides worked alongside 15 professionals from Mexico, Peru, Cuba and Bolivia. "It was very enriching to learn about public universities in Germany since they offer people education that will last a lifetime. There is active participation in educational proposals by local governments because it favors local development", he said.

He added that German institutions have six areas in education: professional education, languages, health, culture, society and politics, and basic education. "Public education in Germany is based in learning and teaching in an interactive manner, encouraging autonomous learning, teaching and generating knowledge, and learning by recognizing the complexity of the context", he said.
