The university's branch campus in Guayaquil began a new semester (academic period 50) for the following majors: Business Administration, Accounting, Communication, Electronics and Automation, Computing, Industrial Engineering, Electricity, Telecommunication, Automotive engineering and Mechatronics.

Before starting this new semester, professors attended training sessions to update their knowledge and skills on several fields such as curriculums, as a tool for planning and data organization in order to improve learning for students. Professors were also trained on the use of the new virtual learning environment. "It is always important to strengthen knowledge and skills because they will then be transmitted to students", said UPS professor Danny Barona.

University officials in Guayaquil welcomed the new students who will now be part of the salesian family. "We welcome all students who are starting class and ask you to live the salesian charisma that identifies our university", said Juna Jose Rocha from the pastoral department.
