Luis Zhunio Collaguazo, an electrical engineering student at UPS-Cuenca, presented his paper in the 2014 IEEE AUTUMN MEETING ON POWER, ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTING (ROPEC 2014) in Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

His paper "Sobre-voltajes Inducidos Producidos por Descargas Atmosféricas Considerando Los Modelos De Líneas De Distribución Jmarti y PI" was accepted by ROPEC 2014 and so Luis was there to explain the importance of analyzing transient overvoltage before the design of distribution networks due to the consequences that the overvoltage may generate.

Professors John Morales and Roberto Cabral from the electrical engineering department at Universidad Federal de Rio Grande del Sul, in Porto Alegre, Brazil cooperated in the simulation project and analysis of transient lines of distribution.
