The social communication major at UPS-Cuenca attended the 1st National Meeting on "Press Coverage in Risk Situations" which took place in Mall del Rio. The event was organized by the Secretariat of Risk Management (SGR) and the Superintendence of Information and Communication (SUPERCOM).

Maria del Pilar Cornejo from the Secretariat of Risk Management and Carlos Ochoa from the Superintendence of Information and Communication were there to talk about the two main topics of the event: "Strengthening and development of skills within risk management" and "Management of communication in emergency situations".

During Carlos Ochoa's presentation, there were some questions and the discussion topic evolved around the right to receive information that is of public relevance and accurate according to the Organic Law of Communication. 

The workshop was really significant since the topics that were discussed were all up to date, and there was a lot of intellectual enrichment on the risks and recommendations to carry out responsible press coverage.
