Automotive Engineering students in the university's branch campus in Cuenca presented several projects which included the presentation of 8 Go-Karts that were designed and build by students from Mechanical Design class. The go karts were driven by students to show their performance.

Another project that stood out for its design, manufacture and operation was the trikes, vehicles with three wheels that were built by students from the Materials Resistance class. This class allowed students to test their skills for designing and making fiberglass and carbon elements, they also determined the best use of materials for the automotive sector.

This event was attended by Luis Tobar, UPS General Vice President, Rene Avila, acting vice president of the university's branch in Cuenca, and Cristian Garcia, director of the automotive engineering major. Luis Tobar acknowledged the work done by students and encouraged them to finish their studiens.

Cirstian Garcia spoke about the importance of giving students activities and places to develop their skills, starting from the first semester. He highlighted that in the future projects will focus on the development of sustainable mobility systems.

Roberto Sacoto, professor of automotive engineering, said they plan on having more events like this one and told attendees that these prototypes will be exhibited in the EXPO UPS in April
